hAppY MERRYNESS chRISTMASY new YeAr

Deary me this time of year always comes around so quickly, i'm always so unorganised and never get people presents! This year i spent it with my mr mans family for the first time in 6 years - bad girlfriend i know, but i always want to see my family because that's what you want at christmas - right?

I haven't been making since i've been on holidays so no exciting posts of new designs. I have been inspired and received some lovely gifts though, which is awesome.

Also i went and had a shop around at the mall/shopping centre?? whatever you call that place!? and that sucked - big time! so uninspiring so blah, so vomit. I went to a new shop that one of my favourite Australian design duos has opened at the Canberra Centre and was really disappointed to see that all their clothing is now made in China. I'm still trying to workout how they can still sell a dress for $750 - no thanks!

Support Australian made! It's the gear!

That's my rant. Thanks for all the support over the last year, you guys have been really amazing and it's so great to have so many return customers, you're the ones that make me all warm and fuzzy inside!

here are some pic's of my presents and sights from home

1. feathers - from my big sisters farm, not sure what to do with them yet....

2. awesome vintage suede zebra jacket - from my nan, you rock!

3.beautiful turquoise Navajo ring - from me...santa!

4. me and my family have this thing where we always find doc martens at the op shop, my brother found me my dream pair!

5.fox tail - from my boyfriend

6. PINEAPPLE! - supermaarket

BIG MASSIVE LOVEY BIG UP!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

more is more

i love my jewellery, i don't have heaps but what i do have, i love. A jewellery collection like my mums is one i definitely aspire to. She has an amazing collection of beautiful antique chinese, victorian, native american and indian sterling silver, also some lovely pieces from local artisans.

Crappiest saying ever "less is more"....more is more baby! When it comes to jewellery anyway.

One thing i don't like is mass produced meaningless crud-ridden cheap-as-shite jewellery....or overpriced costume jewellery with a celebrity name attached that people go crazy over, it's just not my style.

My jewellery comes from everywhere, op shops, ebay, etsy, local designers or i've made it myself (thats the best stuff!).

get amongst it kids!

i did do another jewllery post back in october see it here

bikini.

I finally made a bikini, i've been meaning to for yonks, i just hadn't got around to it...and it is summer after all!

My mum made me a cotton bikini top in the same style when i was about 16 it was green with white polka dots. I was whinging about how i wanted a new bikini and mum said she just use to make her own when she was my age.

I wore that little bikini top constantly, and most often not as a bikini but as a bra top under my shirts with just enough green and white polka dotty goodness poking through!

I'll be making more in the coming weeks so keep an eye out. I have some insanely bright crazy vintage fabric which i'm hanging to use.

studded.

Yesterday i made these cuffs using all the leftover studs from when i use to stud up the levi's (which i still do....i just haven't in ages!). I've always really loved studded cuffs but could never find any that i really liked  for myself. The leather is always really crap or the wrong colour....blah blah blah...so yeah, as i always do, i thought i may as well make some and sell a couple while i'm at it.

The leather i used is all recycled (old straps from bags that have died, or old belts etc.) I find the leather to be heaps better quality than the new stuff, it always feels and looks so much better as well.

My favourite one is the single studded cuff in silver/brass!

buy them HERE and stack em' up!

race day.

So if you follow my facebook page you would know I've been out of action for a couple of months because of our mega move. My sewing machines had been in storage all that time and it was making me completely crazy! I did take the time though to work on new designs and do some fabric hunting.

Last Thursday i finally got my machines up and running and whipped up a dress for the local race day. I'm really stoked with how the dress turned out.
